This recipe was inspired by: Tastes Better from Scratch Blog
I changed it up a bit to suite our taste!
Servings- 8ish
Ingredients:
2 Tbsp of Butter (or Lard, Tallow, Coconut Oil)
1 Large Onion
Many cloves of Garlic
2 Tbsp of Fresh Ginger
2lbs of Grass Fed Ground Beef (or 1 lb beef and 1 lb sausage)
2 Tbsp Brown Sugar (I prefer homemade)
1 cup Coconut Aminos (Azure Standard)
1 tsp of chili flakes (optional)
1.5 cups Beef Bone Broth
4 tsp Tapioca Starch (or arrowroot powder, cornstarch)
1.5 cups of Loose Basil Leaves
Rice (however much you desire to make)
Veggies of Choice
(optional, but I prefer to soak my rice in apple cider vinegar for a few hours to help it be easier to digest, then cook your rice)
In a pot or dutch oven sauté butter, onion, garlic, ginger (and whatever veggies you wish to add, ie peppers, zucchini, squash, broccoli etc) over medium to high heat until cooked, then place in bowl off to the side.
Add in your ground beef and cook thoroughly.
While beef is cooking, in a small bowl mix brown sugar, coconut aminos, chili flakes, bone broth, tapioca startch.
Once beef is cooked, add the above mixture to the beef, simmer for 5-10 minutes (will thicken up slightly. Add rice and veggies and basil.
Serve. Enjoy!
